These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the mobile application Bodo Focus (the “App”) and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
1. About the services
Bodo Focus is a self-control and productivity application designed to help adult users reduce distracting screen time and build healthier focus habits.
The Service allows users to:
voluntarily limit access to selected applications on their own device;
set time-based restrictions using Apple Screen Time / Family Controls;
interact with a virtual focus mascot;
access to the Service, including core functionality, which may require an active subscription following initial use;
The Service is intended solely for personal, self-directed use.
2. Eligibility and age requirements
The Service is intended only for users aged 17 years or older.
By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:
you are at least 17 years old; and
you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
We do not knowingly provide the Service to persons under 17.
3. Account and Authentification
To use certain features, you may be required to authenticate via your phone number using one-time password (OTP) authentication.
Phone numbers are used solely for authentication purposes.
We do not use phone numbers for marketing.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your device and access credentials.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to your account and are not responsible for issues caused by third-party authentication providers.
4. Screen Time and Family Controls
4.1 Use of Apple Screen Time
Bodo Focus uses Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls APIs to enable app blocking and usage limits.
By granting permission, you acknowledge and agree that:
app restrictions are applied only to your own device;
you fully control which apps are restricted and for how long;
no app content, messages, or communications are accessed;
Screen Time data is processed locally on your device.
You may revoke Screen Time access at any time via iOS Settings.
We do not guarantee that app restrictions will be fully effective in all circumstances, including due to system limitations, operating system behavior, or user actions.
4.2 No monitoring of others
The Service does not provide surveillance or tracking of other individuals. Users cannot monitor devices, activity, or behavior of third parties.
However, the Service may allow users to voluntarily share limited activity information (such as focus time) with other users through social or friend features.
We do not guarantee that app restrictions will be fully effective in all circumstances, including due to system limitations, operating system behavior, or user actions.
5. Subscriptions and payments
5.1 Billing
Subscriptions are processed via:
Apple In-App Purchases; and/or
third-party billing providers (e.g., RevenueCat, Stripe).
Payment terms, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are governed by:
Apple’s App Store policies; and/or
the applicable payment provider’s terms.
We do not store full payment card details.
5.2 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through:
your Apple ID subscription settings; or
the applicable payment provider.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
5.3 No Refunds for Canceled Subscriptions
Canceling a subscription stops future billing but does not result in a refund for the current billing period.
Upon cancellation, you will continue to have access to the subscription features until the end of the paid subscription term.
All payments are final and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law or expressly stated otherwise by Apple or the applicable payment provider.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
use the Service for unlawful purposes;
attempt to bypass, override, or manipulate Screen Time restrictions;
reverse engineer, modify, or interfere with the App;
use the Service in a way that violates Apple’s policies or applicable law.
7. Intellectual property
All rights, title, and interest in the App, including:
software,
design,
mascots,
graphics,
trademarks,
belong to the Service provider or its licensors.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal purposes only.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.”
We do not guarantee that:
the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free;
specific productivity outcomes will be achieved;
blocking will be effective in all circumstances.
The Service is a self-improvement tool, not medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
we shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages;
we are not responsible for loss of productivity, data, or business;
use of Screen Time features is at your own discretion and risk.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if:
you violate these Terms;
required by law or Apple policy;
necessary to protect the Service or other users.
You may stop using the Service at any time.
11. Privacy
Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how personal data is collected, used, and protected.
12. Changes to terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
Material changes will be communicated through the App or other reasonable means.
Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
